Pora is a Beauty and Health AI assistant developed to democratize dermatology and cosmetology services. Our goal is to empower peoples' wellness and beauty with an ultimate tool for understanding and further improving their skin. We develop breakthrough AI solutions that combine deep knowledge of the user's condition with comprehensive competencies in skincare products.

We already have developed the iOS version of our app that is available in the US, Canada, and EU stores. It’s capable of:

• Guiding the user through a dermatological questionnaire to understand their conditions and needs
• Taking images of the user’s face and providing ML-based analysis
• Providing meaningful recommendations of topical cosmetic products that can improve the skin conditions of the user.
• Suggesting face exercises to maintain firmness and the youth of the skin.

From the DS point of view, there are several areas in which we're primarily focused right now:

• Finding out the structure to describe all the skin conditions we're interested in.
• Finding out the structure to describe all skincare programs we're interested in.
• Collect a large, diverse dataset of various skin conditions with the corresponding labeling (both segmentation and classification).
• Set up reliable processes to ensure the quality of the data we're using.
• Developing the interpretation algorithms, i.e., translating raw ML predictions into user-friendly representations.
• Developing algorithms for producing the skincare programs and matching them with the user data.
• Building various quality metrics to make sure we're on track in every direction that matters.
• Analyzing the failure modes of our models and algorithms and completing projects to address these failure modes. After a while, we'll also be putting effort into writing science papers, filing patents, and analyzing the live users' data.

We need a solid professional with a deep understanding of data science and its applications to take care of all that. We already have a computer vision team in place, so this position is more about making sure their work is based on valid input and makes business sense in general, rather than just training ML models.

In this position, you'll report directly to the CTO.
